AMD, your trusted supplier of ventilation mine door systems, continues to add and improve its product offerings. As ventilation mine engineering reaches greater heights and sophistication in automation, AMD is offering several new mine doors product offerings for your mine door systems. Below is a small sampling of NEW AMD product offerings.
1.- Add On Mine Door Grease Kits for Easier Maintenance
AMD is now offering an optional AMD Grease Fitting Relocation Kit. It eliminates the cumbersome task of scheduling a man-lift to reach the top grease fittings for mine door maintenance.
Each door has 2 grease manifolds with Zerk fittings that are located on both vertical frame members (one manifold on each side of the door). This allows maintenance personnel to grease both the top and bottom bearings at ground level, saving time and improving safety.
Includes the following items:
- Quantity (2) AMD Grease Junction Blocks.
- Grease Filled Nylon Tubing w/ Quick-Connect Connectors Kit for (1) Door.
- Can be manual or automated.
2.- Mine Door Remote Control Activation from the Vehicle
AMD has advanced its automation options for opening and closing of mine doors with an easy-to-use handheld remote-control system. Vehicle drivers can activate the door open/close with a push of a button in the vehicle. AMD provides a transmitter to send a unique signal to the mine door receiver wired into the AMD PLC Control Cabinet. Each mine vehicle can be equipped with its own transmitter as requested. 1 to 4 Button Handheld available. Easy programming by the mine to meet your needs at each location.
The AMD remote control systems can be combined in any quantity to create a medium-range radio frequency system to operate the mine doors from safe, convenient locations. This transmitter will automatically go into “sleep” mode when not in use to dramatically extend battery life.
The AMD remote control systems can receive remote signals transmitted from up to up to 600 feet away and provide the utmost security and reliability even in the noisiest RF environments.
The AMD 2.4GHz RF Transmitter is a handheld transmitter capable of sending a unique digital command to an AMD receiver located at the door control cabinet. The AMD 2.4 GHz RF Receiver is an RF system designed for short to medium range wireless remote control for mining applications. The receiver is NEMA 4, polycarbonate and mounted outside of AMD Door Controls. AMD’s 2.4ghz Receiver has a single relay output with three User-Selectable Relay Modes. 9-36vdc powered. Includes Rubber Duck Antenna
Systems can consist of any number of receivers and handheld transmitters working together.
3.- Gas Detection Systems at the Mine Door
AMD has added the capability of monitoring toxic gases as an added safety component. Currently AMD is monitoring Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) within its Mine Door Airlocks. The gas detection devices are placed in critical areas chosen by the mine.
The detection devices are programmed into the PLC Control Cabinet. If gases reach a certain toxic level the detection device will send a signal to the AMD PLC Control Cabinet and a gas detection light and strobe will flash to alert mine personnel of the high gas environment. This alert allows mine personnel to react accordingly in following their protocol. Settings programmed by the mine to meet their needs at each location.
Systems include:
- Monitoring Detection Aluminum Encloser.
- Gas Sensors.
- Required Connector Cables to PLC Control Cabinet.
4.- LED Mine Door Safety Lighting System for Greater Door Awareness
Tower Lights and Audible Alarms are necessary for safety in alerting mine personnel when mine doors are opening and/or closing. For even greater awareness and safety, consider adding LED Strips around the perimeter of your door.
Adding LED Lighting Strips further prevents costly door collisions, equipment damage and most important miner awareness with changing colors to alert mine personnel to the operational state of a door. Choose colors from light blue, red, green, blue, yellow, and purple. LEDs can change color and/ or flash… the choice is yours! Custom design your color configuration to meet your mine specifications.
Showcased at MINExpo
These new product offerings will be on display at the upcoming MINExpo 2024 International Mine Trade Show in Las Vegas Nevada from Sept 24th through Sept 26th.
For a demonstration stop by the MINExpo International Trade Show. AMD will be in the West Hall, Booth #11600. See if any of these new offerings are right for your upcoming project application. If you cannot attend contact AMD for more information.
